About the Authors

CHRIS ANDERSON served as a pastor for twenty-five years. After three years of international missions work, he became the full-time president of Church Works Media, which he co-founded in 2006. As an author, hymn-writer, Bible teacher, and missions catalyst, Chris frequently speaks in churches, colleges, and conferences.

DAN ANDERSON served as a pastor for four years in the USA before moving to Brazil. He and his wife, Linda, spent thirteen years planting churches and training leaders. In 2011, BGFM Global tapped Dan to be the mission’s Executive Director. Dan and Linda have seven children, several of whom are serving the Lord abroad, and they have six grandchildren.

JD CROWLEY has lived in Asian cultures all his life. After 12 years of pastoring in Hawaii, he went to Cambodia in 1994 to do linguistic and mission work among the indigenous minorities there. He is the author of The Tampuan/Khmer/English Dictionary and Khmer commentaries on Matthew and Romans.

DAVID HOSAFLOOK went to Albania in 1992 on a mission trip, and stayed, evangelizing, planting churches, and doing humanitarian work in the wake of an oppressive communist-atheist regime. A husband and father of five, he has published more than thirty books retelling the brutally buried stories of Albanian Christians and their gospel message.

PHILIP HUNT has served Christ in Africa since 1992, planting churches and training leaders across the continent. He serves as Pastor for Preaching and Vision at Kitwe Church in Zambia and has led Central Africa Baptist University as President/Vice-Chancellor since its founding in 2004. He also helped establish Faith Children’s Village Orphanage in 2003.

TIM KEESEE is the founder of Frontline Missions International, executive producer of the film series Dispatches from the Front, author of A Company of Heroes and A Day’s Journey, and co-author with Tim Challies of From the Rising of the Sun. His articles have been published by Desiring God, TableTalk, and The Wall Street Journal.

JOE TYRPAK has served as a pastor of Tri-County Bible Church in Madison, Ohio, since 2005. He has coauthored each of the Gospel Meditations devotionals, published several modern psalms with Church Works Media, and produced a DVD, The Life of David Brainerd: A Documentary, with a companion devotional. He and his wife Hannah have four children.

Endorsements

“Chris Anderson writes, ‘Missions is not a ministry of the church; it is the ministry of the church.’ If so, then every Christian should be vitally involved in missions. Some will devote their lives to full-time missionary endeavors, others will serve as pastors who teach about and encourage missions, and all should be ‘senders.’ Whatever your role in missions, this short book will give insight, biblical instruction, inspiring stories, and convincing reasons why every believer should want to dedicate their lives to the ministry Christ has given His church.”

Gary Gilley, Assistant Pastor of Southern View Chapel, Springfield, Illinois

“With one exception, I have known each of the contributors to this volume for many years. They represent the finest missionary thinking and practice among conservative evangelicals today. I reference them regularly as exemplars to my students. My life work as a missiologist has been to increase their tribe.”

Mark Vowels, Missions Professor

More Gospel Meditations for Missions is a timely and needed call to refocus our hearts on the transforming power of the gospel. Each reading gently but clearly draws the reader back to daily dependence on Christ, reminding us that missions is not driven by extraordinary people, but by ordinary believers faithfully submitting every part of their lives to Him. I was personally encouraged and motivated through these meditations, and I believe they will stir a renewed passion for gospel-centered living and global mission.”

Donna Bixby, Missionary and International Director of Jonathan’s House, Central African Republic
